Oh and Trev, tell you sniper, we got
a hostage. Stage 1: declare that we do not negotiate
with terrorists. Stage 2: I thought you'd reconsider once you say poor little
Rusty. Don't worry he's fine... for now! [quote:ab59594a3a]Stage 3:[/i]
Realise the Americans can't start a war with us without just cause, and since
they'll no doubt call on Hollywood for inspiration, they'll want to do it with
the "Boston Tea Party - Revenge of the Earl Grey!".

The Fifth Cord

Released under the more exotic title Giornata nera per l'ariete (Black
Night for the Aries)
, this early giallo thriller can boast a fine
cast and top creative names. The plot is a tangled string of murders committed
for an almost incomprehensible motive, but it stays on its feet thanks to Luigi
Bazzoni's stylish direction and Vittorio Storaro's atmospheric
cinematography.

Top Italo star Franco Nero is Andre Bild, an alcoholic reporter obsessed with
the murder of a doctor's crippled wife (Rossella Falk,
Modesty Blaise
and the near-fatal clubbing of an Australian English teacher
(Maurizio Bonuglia). They may be only peripheral characters in a tangle of

Indian Babu

Bollywood enters the 21st century with few changes in this musical romance.
As per the Bollywood genre, this one movie is an all-purpose entertainment
machine, fulfilling a checklist of entertainment needs. Our attractive young
stars play out a long, eventful romance designed to accommodate as many musical
numbers, dramatic surprises and kick boxing fights as possible. The official
tagline is "Music was his life until he met her...", which has almost nothing to
do with the colorful pastiche on screen.

Roseanne - The Complete Third Season

The Third Season

Roseanne was a popular sitcom from the late eighties and its cast has
been given numerous awards for their performances. The series is about a lower
class family living in Lanford, Illinois who is struggling through that odd
thing we call life. The show has an intrinsic cast and they are a hard family
not to like. Roseanne looks at some of the most common daily situations
from the home and the work place. In most cases these situations turn out to be
funny. However unlike some sitcoms that rely on slapstick comedy to make
ordinary situations a riot, Roseanneuses witty dialogue to get laughs.
All in all, I like this show. For more background information about the series
please refer to my reviews of
season one and
season two.

King Kong (2005) 2-disc Special Edition

It's a big, exciting, action-packed adventure epic that audiences loved. At
the screenings Savant attended it was given spontaneous bursts of applause. But
because King Kong's box office receipts didn't top 500 million it was
considered a financial disappointment. What's wrong with this picture?

Modern remakes are not created equal. The majority are undertaken simply
because a "known quantity" property like Cheaper by the Dozen or
Flight of the Phoenix doesn't require the marketers to work from scratch
to create a public consciousness for the new film. Also, a remake can be easily
managed by a corporate committee -- the appeal of the original can be studied,
and the objectives of the remake set in stone to remind 'creative' filmmakers to
go only in the pre-approved direction.

Last December's King Kong is the g...
