Video Advertising Marketplace Bets On User Contributions: Revver
Video advertising gives a new spin to how
user-generated content and a distributed advertising model can enable exposure
and profits for all parties involved. Watch, Upload, Make Money. This is the
roaring mantra for newly launched Revver.com, an online video clips
clearinghouse that allows anyone to submit, upload, store and redistribute short
video clips of any (legal) kind while making money at it. Photo credit: Ophelia
Cherry The strategy is very simple: Revver gives to every free account up to
100MB of video storage space for each video clip (yes you read that right), and
no limits to the number of clips you can upload. So, if your intention is one of
testing whether the new media market is ready...
First Online Payment System To Be Open-Source And Bank-Independent Now In Beta: Ripple
Paying without cash and without going
through a bank may seem an impossible proposition. Not so, says Ryan Fugger, the
architect of Ripple, an open-source bank-independent payment system that is now
in Beta release, meaning it's open to play with and test. Photo credit: Mikael
Damkier Conceived by Ryan Fugger and quite formally defined by Sylvain Poirier,
Ripple is a P2P monetary payment system based on trust that already exists
between people in real-world social networks. By cutting out the institutional
middlemen, Ripple is both more community-oriented and more efficient as a means
of exchange The idea is simple but it has world-changing potential. Here is how
it works, as explained on the Ripple.com site:...

John Ford Goes to War
From: Image Entertainment - Year: 2005 -
Rated: Not Rated - Release Date: December 20, 2005 This bare-bones release
probably will only appeal to the famed director's fans. The image and sound
transfers are nothing exceptional and the documentary is so brief that this is a
difficult title to recommend. Perhaps it would be better suited as a
supplemental on a release containing all of Ford's war propaganda
films.
Spanking the Monkey
From: Image Entertainment - Year: 1994 -
Rated: Not Rated - Release Date: December 06, 2005 - Features: Anamorphic *
Widescreen * Spanking the Monkey is a good film, gently handling an enormously
difficult subject with underplayed humor and restraint. It launched
writer/director David O. Russell into the indie hall of fame, and established
what has been proven a fruitful career. And I never, ever want to watch it
again. If you see only one incest film, see this one, I suppose, but... why see
any at all? Neverhteless, those with stronger stomachs than mine will appreciate
the fine, bargain-priced DVD from Image.
